Errbet was no longer attracted by the work of colour with crayons and later, gouache. However, he was fascinated by the image of painters wearing a white overall, using a brush at arm's length, with a staring look, painting on a huge oil - painting canvas set on an easel, in a large workshop flooded with light.It is only when he was in contact with oil - painting for the first time, that he discovered the pleasure of colour.This material, new to him, brought him a texture that pleased him, a drying time which allowed him to return on his work, a quality in colour that satisfied him at last.

On top of that, it was a scent he liked immediately.

Here are his first paintings, at least the first ones, he thought were suitable for exhibition. Most of them have already been exhibited .
